Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR) is a member church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA).
Being an evangelical church means that ELCA congregations have the
wonderful opportunity to welcome and receive the rich gifts and passions
of diverse people.
The Mission Statement of LCR is "Making Christ Known to All."
As individuals we are sent each day to bear witness to the love of Christ. As a congregation, we are sent to proclaim Christ to the community.
In Matthew 28: 19-20 Christians are given this command: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
The Evangelism Committe/team is one of the ways we try to reach out to the community.
Evangelism / Outreach includes these ministries:
- Ladies Night Out & Scrapbooking Events
- Garden Ministry
- Welcoming Visitors
- Welcoming new members - Orientation of New Members
- Coffee Houses
- Works to reach the community and spread the word of Jesus Christ
- Provide representation of LCR at the Oak Forest Awareness Fair
- Meets the first Tuesday of the month @ 7:00 PM
