Music Ministry

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness!
– Psalm 100

The goal of the Director of Music is to develop a prayerful singing and playing assembly through preparation, education, celebration, evaluation, and personal ministry.

Numerous opportunities exist for talented people to participate in our music ministry at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection (LCR). Our ministry is to exemplify the core priorities of LCR. The mission of Music Ministries at LCR is to proclaim the gospel message through song by providing vibrant music for worship in our church. If you love to sing or play an instrument and would like to be a part of our wonderful music ministry, we would love to have you do a simple 5-minute, private assessment with our Music Director.

BELL CHOIR: Wednesdays 7:30pm - 8:30pm (on hiatus until Lent)

CANTOR, INSTRUMENTALIST, SOLOIST - TBD

Choir Members and Hand bell Ringers (known as Glory Ringers at LCR) exercise their ministry by singing and playing instruments. They are expected to commit to being with the choir each week at Sunday Worship and to attend weekly rehearsals from Labor Day through mid-June. You do not necessarily have to read music (it helps!), but you will need to bring a heavy dose of patience and humor to our gatherings.
Participants are gifted with innovation and creativity to deepen people’s spirit.

Consider these things...
I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity—to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.”
-Sir Paul McCartney

To sing is to pray twice!
–St. Augustine
