Christ has called his followers to love one another, love our neighbors as ourselves, and support each other.  The Mision & Outreach ministry brings these teachings to our lives by creating opportunities for fellowship and fun for church members and non-members alike. Interaction with like-minded individuals of the community is supportive and essential to growth in the faith. ​Ministry members are gifted with creativity, social awareness and ease, hospitality, a sense of fun, and new ideas.

Some of these opportunities include:

• Pastoral Care (Evangelism) - The care of the community of faith is a shared task between pastor and lay members. Whether it’s illness, hospitalization, or loss of partner, animal, or job, our pastoral care team provides prayer, visitation, and support. Volunteers are trained in bringing communion to others as well as visitation and active listening. Members of this team have the spiritual gifts of mercy, encouragement, healing, and service.

• PSALMS (Prayer Shawls) – On the second Saturday of each month at 9:30 AM, the ladies of the congregation gather in the church conference room to knit, crochet, and loom beautiful shawls and prayer squares—each one crafted with love, care, and prayer. If you are handy with a crochet hook or pair of knitting needles, or perhaps you've always wanted to learn, come and share your time and talents as we weave shawls of comfort for those who are in need.

• Babes that Brunch – On the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 AM, the ladies of the congregation gather at various local restaurants to share good food and meaningful conversation. It’s a time to exchange joys, discuss challenges, and support one another from a Christian perspective.

• Lenten Suppers – each Wednesday in Lent prior to the evening worship service, a simple supper of soup and salad or other simple fare is provided by different church teams to symbolize Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for us all.

• Bunco Nights – On a quarterly basis, at 6:30 on a Friday evening, all are invited to participate in a little gaming fun by bringing an appetizer dish to share and a wrapped $10.00 gift – everyone takes home a gift and enjoys Christian fellowship and fun.

• Game Nights – On the months when we’re not hosting our BUNCO nights, we gather for a fun round (or three) of Left Center Right (LCR @ LCR). We meet at 6:30 PM on Friday evenings, enjoy plenty of snacks, and laugh our way through the game. The food spread is always incredible—pizza, chicken wings and tenders, shrimp, dips and chips, and of course, desserts. To play three rounds, all you need is 6 quarters and 3 singles. Bring a friend, bring the kids—everyone is welcome!

• Special events – at least once yearly, special opportunities are held to invite others to enjoy our faith community.  Past events have included a musical dinner/ theater, a Spring luncheon with fashion show, Ladies Spring salad luncheon, and Summer Salad luncheon with barbershop quartet entertainment.
